Image in email signature in reply email is replaced with placeholder

Problem
When you reply to, or forward, an email in the Mail app on an Apple iPhone or iPad, images in the HTML email are replaced with file names. Examples include image001.png, image002.png, and so on.
Reason
This is by design of the Mail app on Apple iOS devices.
Solution
This problem has no solution.
